He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches,
And he who gives to the rich,
will surely come to poverty.
King Solomon
Credo
by Kofi Natambu
So forget what you have been told
It was all lies. I am not a figment
of yr warped imagination nor a halfway
house thru which joy and sorrow passes.
It's a lie that we are what we seem to be.
Never have I lived yr life.
Never I have seen yr corroded dreams hucklebuck
down the anxiety-ridden corridors of yr past.
Forget what I'm saying to you. Can't you hear
yr own heartbeat? Where are you when YOU really
need it?
Don't hide behind what you think I should or
should not do for you
Forget what you have been taught.
It was and is all Lies.
We are not Conclusions.
My Comment:
This poem embodies how I have been feeling in respect to our current situation here in America. I have heard enough foolishness to last me more than a lifetime when it comes to the subject of our President Barack Obama and his job performance. The expectations people have for him are preposterous to say the least.
"Don't hide behind what you think I should or
should not do for you

Do you really think Barack Obama is here to make your dreams come true? One man taking on all the problems that we have made collectively, of which some of us unjustly expect him to solve immediately. To those of you who have, imaginary, unchangeable, timetables, and outrageous expections, could you pull it off? Could you jump through the hoops you are requiring of him? This is every man and woman's struggle and we all need to pull together and work together and forget all those lies we've been taught. Read the poem, think about it, and do something good!
You who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name...

1-5 Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions.
Do what I say and you'll live well.
My teaching is as precious as your eyesight—guard it!
Write it out on the back of your hands;
etch it on the chambers of your heart.
Talk to Wisdom as to a sister.
Treat Insight as your companion.
They'll be with you to fend off the Temptress—
that smooth-talking, honey-tongued Seductress.
6-12 As I stood at the window of my house
looking out through the shutters,
Watching the mindless crowd stroll by,
I spotted a young man without any sense
Arriving at the corner of the street where she lived,
then turning up the path to her house.
It was dusk, the evening coming on,
the darkness thickening into night.
Just then, a woman met him—
she'd been lying in wait for him, dressed to seduce him.
Brazen and brash she was,
restless and roaming, never at home,
Walking the streets, loitering in the mall,
hanging out at every corner in town.
13-20 She threw her arms around him and kissed him,
boldly took his arm and said,
"I've got all the makings for a feast—
today I made my offerings, my vows are all paid,
So now I've come to find you,
hoping to catch sight of your face—and here you are!
I've spread fresh, clean sheets on my bed,
colorful imported linens.
My bed is aromatic with spices
and exotic fragrances.
Come, let's make love all night,
spend the night in ecstatic lovemaking!
My husband's not home; he's away on business,
and he won't be back for a month."
21-23 Soon she has him eating out of her hand,
bewitched by her honeyed speech.
Before you know it, he's trotting behind her,
like a calf led to the butcher shop,
Like a stag lured into ambush
and then shot with an arrow,
Like a bird flying into a net
not knowing that its flying life is over.
24-27 So, friends, listen to me,
take these words of mine most seriously.
Don't fool around with a woman like that;
don't even stroll through her neighborhood.
Countless victims come under her spell;
she's the death of many a poor man.
She runs a halfway house to hell,
fits you out with a shroud and a coffin.

The Message (MSG)
Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming;
But who is able to stand before jealousy?
King Solomon
"There is a right time and a right way for everything,
yet people often have many troubles.
They do not know what the future holds,
and no one can tell them what will happen.
No one can control the wind
or stop his own death.
No soldier is released in times of war,
and evil does not set free those who do evil."
King Solomon
"If you don't get out of the box
you've been raised in,
you won't understand
how much bigger the world is."

"Because sentence against an evil work
is not executed speedily,
therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them
to do evil."

"Charm is deceptive and beauty is vain,
but a woman who respects the LORD will be praised."
